HEALING FOR YOUR SORROW
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3
There are seasons when sorrow reaches places in the heart that words cannot fully explain.
Sometimes we grieve a person we have lost.
Sometimes we grieve a relationship that changed.
Sometimes we grieve a dream that did not come to pass.
Sometimes we are simply tired from carrying too much for too long.
And sometimes, we cannot even explain why our heart hurts. But Scripture reminds us that sorrow does not make us forgotten by God.
“The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
God does not stand at a distance from our pain.
He comes near.
He sits with us in the silence.
He strengthens us when we cannot strengthen ourselves.
He catches the tears we cannot explain.
“You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle.” — Psalm 56:8
Your tears are not wasted. Your sorrow is not evidence that your faith has failed.
Even Jesus wept.
“Jesus wept.” — John 11:35
The Son of God knew what it meant to stand before grief, loss, and human suffering. And because He does, we can bring our sorrow to Him without shame.
We do not have to pretend to be strong before God.
We can simply say: “Lord, I am hurting. Heal me.”
And He hears us.
